We are at the crossroads of ancient and Renaissance / Baroque towns unique with their art and sacred treasures: Zadar and Dubrovnik, Trogir and Makarska or the neighboring Split and Omis.

Hospitality

In Dalmatia we all have lunch at the same table - a round table sinija from Poljica, where the Illyrian Shepherd, a Greek merchant, Lucius Artorius Castus Roman and King Arthur, Croatian Prince Mislav and Grand Duke Poljica, old Slovenian god Perun, a Christian St George all sit together.

History

Podstrana’s cultural heritage is promoted all year round, though the crown jewel of its programme is, without a doubt, the event Podstrana Cultural Summer. During these hundred or so days, this ˝corner of the Mediterranean below Perun˝ unabashedly flaunts its feathers both with pictures, words, movement and music. The millennium-old Church of St George on Perun Hill was erected on a hill where the Old Slavic god Perun was once worshipped.

Culture

Dalmatian region has its own unique style of music, clothing, songs and instruments and here you will hear group of 3-5 men singing in the evening while you saunter through the narrow marble covered streets of a coastal town or fishing village. They sing the traditional "Klapa", an a Capella sung songs about the sea and love.
