One thing Croatian’s are good at is eating. Another thing we do well is cooking. And in general, we are definitely able to brag a bit about our cuisine. Unique combination of all the things
We offer a unique combination of all the things: breathtaking natural beauty, blue Adriatic sea, the Mediterranean climate, oodles of history, interesting architecture, incredible wine, delicious seafood.
We are at the crossroads of ancient and Renaissance / Baroque towns unique with their art and sacred treasures: Zadar and Dubrovnik, Trogir and Makarska or the neighboring Split and Omis.
In Dalmatia we all have lunch at the same table - a round table sinija from Poljica, where the Illyrian Shepherd, a Greek merchant, Lucius Artorius Castus Roman and King Arthur, Croatian Prince Mislav and Grand Duke Poljica, old Slovenian god Perun, a Christian St George all sit together.
Podstrana’s cultural heritage is promoted all year round, though the crown jewel of its programme is, without a doubt, the event Podstrana Cultural Summer. During these hundred or so days, this ˝corner of the Mediterranean below Perun˝ unabashedly flaunts its feathers both with pictures, words, movement and music. The millennium-old Church of St George on Perun Hill was erected on a hill where the Old Slavic god Perun was once worshipped.
Dalmatian region has its own unique style of music, clothing, songs and instruments and here you will hear group of 3-5 men singing in the evening while you saunter through the narrow marble covered streets of a coastal town or fishing village. They sing the traditional "Klapa", an a Capella sung songs about the sea and love.
The captivating smells, tastes and colours of the fruits of the sea and the land, processed by traditional culinary methods. Walking in beautiful and varied landscape, kilometres of pebble beaches are only a stone’s throw away from the balconies, cycling, swimming, sailing or diving in the clear blue Adriatic sea, bird watching in nature parks, playing tennis, playing golf, relaxation in a natural spa, the opportunities are endless.
Villa Ajduk is family run by Joško and his wife Marija. As a family-run hotel, we understand the requirements of families, we also know that travelling can be stressful, so we are here to make your stay in Podstrana a pleasurable experience.
